Honda has a great philosophy when it comes to manufacturing, it says to “build products close to the customer.” That’s why Honda operates 19 major manufacturing facilities in North America, and it’s also why, here at Fox Honda, we’d like to offer Honda Precision Parts of Georcia, LLC (HPPG) a big Congratulations! for 10 years of manufacturing transmissions in Tallapoosa, Georgia! When the plant opened in 2006 it had 179 associates, and it has since grown to over 500 associates.

At its opening, HPPG manufactured five-speed transmissions, but in 2012 Honda invested in further innovation and switched to the manufacturing of six-speed transmissions. Altogether, the plant has produced approximately 2.7 million transmissions to date, with the one-millionth transmission rolling off the production line on October 4, 2010. The plant currently produces transmissions for some all-star members of the Honda lineup, including the Honda Pilot SUV, the Honda Odyssey minivan, and the 2017 Honda Ridgeline pickup truck.
