The Japanese automaker, Honda, did away with the Civic wagon in the United States in the early 1990s and since then, they have been pretty quiet in terms of this practical bodystyle. But now, it looks like we're going to see a comeback, at least overseas.

Debuted recently at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show in Germany was the Honda Civic Tourer, a station wagon-style vehicle with a unique, fun, and funky look.

Developed by the automaker's overseas research and design team, Honda intends to sell the model in Europe. No word on if  they have plans to release it to the U.S. market at some point, but all of us at Fox Honda sure hope that's in the plans for the future.

"I am very proud of the Civic Tourer's sporty, sleek and dynamic proportions, which somewhat hide the car's true functionality and versatility," says Large Project Leader for the Honda Civic Tourer, Adrian Killham. "To achieve true utility on a compact car, you have to consider how to make the most of the space in the cabin, which generally also affects the design."1.

Built to be both sophisticated and athletic, the style will likely appeal to several different types of drivers. A unique roofline with A- and D-pillars make it appear to be floating, giving the model a modern feel.

Lucky for us, we have the exciting new 2013 - 2014 Honda lineup to satisfy us until more details are released regarding the Civic Tourer. Stop by Fox Honda in Grand Rapids to check out the Accord, Civic, Pilot, Odyssey, and more firsthand. We're sure you'll be impressed.
